Why traveling on the road is better than taking a flight

Hundreds of millions of people in our world today makes means of road transport on an almost daily basis than they do with air travel. Why do people prefer road transport to travelling by flight? Well, they do have some benefits they derive from it else they would have opted for air travel.

1. Cheaper Option: in as much as flight is the fastest means of transportation, it is very expensive; for instance, a flight from Port Harcourt to Abuja will get their in roughly 45 minutes; but you have to pay almost N17, 000 for it, while from Port Harcourt to Abuja takes over 8 hours but you will pay less than N4, 000 as transport fare.

2. Road Accidents are less fatal: Air accidents are a rare occurrence, but when it happens, its so fatal that no one in the flight survives it; most time almost 200 lives are lost in a single air accident; that’s why most people prefer road travels, where if there is a road accident, there are always survivals.

3. Air Sickness: some people suffer from air sickness most times when they are flight bound; the only option for such people is to travel by road to avoid it. Also, if there is an emergency, maybe a health issue with one of the passengers, nothing can be done to save the person unless there is a nearby airport where the flight can land before the person can receive medical attention.

4. Weather: you can undertake a road journey not withstanding the weather condition, but there are some weather conditions when flights are not allowed to travel; such as, when the weather is humid, when it is raining or when snow is falling.

5. Shorter distances: Many people in our world today don't really go for long distances on a frequent basis and so see no need to travel by air which is better suited for long distance journeys.
