E-commerce stores have done shoppers some good as people can now stay in the comfort of their homes, order for a product and get it delivered to their home. For trust and security purpose, most e-commerce sites give buyers the pay on delivery option. This option allows a buyer to offer for a product from an online store. The buyer gets to pay when the goods have been delivered to the person.

Some advantages of paying for products on
delivery include:

- It helps you avoid scam as you only get to pay for the product after it has been delivered to you.

- It ensures that a buyer gets only high quality and original products , since the website owners knows that the seller would pay for the goods only after thorough inspections, they would ensure that they deliver only original products

- It helps to build the reputation and trust people place on a shopping store, since they know that they can order for a product and pay on delivery after they have inspected the product. This means that more people would be willing to order for products from the site and this means more sales for the Seller.

However, one problem e-commerce stores encounter with the payment on delivery method is shopping is that a times the person that ordered for the goods might not be at home at the time the goods is delivered to his address. When notified, buyers should ensure that they are available to claim their product when it is delivered to their destination.

Another problem shopping websites do encounter with non-cash backed orders is that at times, buyers could change their minds on the order and may very well reject the order or just do a return without payment.
