Choosing politics as a career is a good choice because it gives you the opportunity to touch people’s lives and also to contribute to the growth of the country. I believe that a good political foundation and some background work can help increase the chances of an aspiring Politician win any post he or she veers for.

Let’s look at some of the things you can do to help your political career:

1. Have A Strong Educational Background: In as much as I have always believed that education does not guarantee success, but I also know that it opens doors of opportunity for a person. If you are planning to veer into a political career, you must make sure that you have built your educational background; consider taking a university degree on coursers relating to politics such as Political science or Law

2. Build Your Social Network: a popular saying between me and my friends is ‘In Nigeria, he who has connections has it all’. Networking is very important for anybody that wishes to pursue a political career, because whether you believe it or not there is a high echelon of people in every country that determines the affairs of that country, and networking with those people will increase your chances of success in the political world.

3. Raise Funds: Politics requires a lot of money to make it work; you will spend on your campaigns, bill boards, posters and handbills, cost of tickets for the office and unless you are financially stable or have a well to do political god-father, you may find it difficult to make it through your political career
