Internet Service Providers offer various Data Plans for accessing the internet and the rates are based on the amount of data actually requested for.

Majority of the Internet Bundles are limited while few others are Unlimited. Limited Data Bundle means that when you subscribe for the Data Plan, you will be given a specific amount of data size in Megabyte (MB)to browse with, It may be 500MB, 1GB or any other amount, but after your exhaust that byte limit, your Browsing Plan will be exhausted. This means that if you subscribe for a 500MB Data plan to last for a month, if you exhaust it within a week, you will no longer be able to browse again for the remaining part of the month, unless you subscribe for a new Data Bundle. In the case of Unlimited Data plans, your Data plan has no limit and it can expire only after the time allocated to it.

Most people do not use the Unlimited Data Plan because of the initial higher Cost but if you were in need of unlimited data and downloads, this is normally the better option. The typical cost of subscribing for a Month’s worth of unlimited Data Bundle in Nigeria can cost up to #20,000 depending on the Communication network you buy the Bundle from.

BENEFITS OF LIMITED DATA PLAN:
- CHEAP: Limited Data Plans are cheap and affordable to buy. This is because of its limited nature.

BENEFITS OF UNLIMITED DATA PLAN:
- Unlimited Downloads: With the Unlimited Data Plan, you no longer worry about the possibility of exhausting your Data Bundle before the allocated time. Your Bundle only ends at the end of the time allocated to it. If you buy an unlimited bundle for 30 days, it can’t be exhausted until the end of the 30 days.

- Less worries: If you were using a limited data plan, you may be worrying that you'd soon exhaust your data plan and this is most especially the case if one was browsing on a computer but if you were on a fixed cost unlimited data plan, you'd not worry about the data used or when it would be exhausted.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIMITED AND UNLIMITED DATA PLAN:
- DATA SIZE: One major difference between the two Data Plans is the size of the Data. Limited Data plans have a Data size allocated to it. For instance 1GB for 30 days means that you have been given just 1GB for the next 30 days no more, but with Unlimited Data Plan, you are not allotted a certain size of Megabytes, meaning you can’t use up the Data no matter how much Data Size you use within the period given to use. You can actually use 20GB within the period

- Time expiration: With limited Data Plan, the Megabytes can be exhausted, before the time duration and when the MB is exhausted, you can’t connect to the internet till you subscribe again. For instance If you are given 500MB for 30 days and you use up the MB in 7 days, you would be automatically be disconnected from using the internet until you purchase a new Data Bundle. While for the Unlimited Data Plan, your MB expires only after the time duration.
