A mattress is one the vital things that is found in a bedroom; most people use their mattress for a very long time without proper care, and some don’t even bother to change the mattress for a long while; some use theirs for up to 15 years and more. You should endeavour to take good care of your mattress by washing it once in a while, keeping it under the sun regularly, and using disinfectant on it regularly; this will make it last longer. For this article, I will focus more on when to change a mattress; you should change your mattress when any of the following occurs:

- Infested With Bed Bugs: when a mattress is not well taken care of, there is a tendency for bedbug to invest the mattress, and bedbugs are hard to get rid of, and can spread to other materials in the room such as clothes. The best option for you when you notice that your bed is infested with bedbugs is to get a new mattress and get ride of the old one.

- When The Mattress Flattens Out: most mattress tend to lessen or flatten out with extensive usage, and when it flattens out, most time it begins to make the user uncomfortable, and in extreme cases can lead to back pain, to avoid this, mattress should be changed immediately it flattens out. You don’t have to wait for it to totally flatten out, when it gets to half of its original size, its enough to get a new one.
