3 things old people can do to lose weight

As a person advances in age, he or she tends to add up a lot of weight. This is because the number of vigorous and physical activities a person engages in reduces as the person advances in age. Being over weight at an old age can be very dangerous as it can lead to many health complications such as; heart attack, diabetes, stroke and many more weigh related issues. For this article I will focus on 3 things old people can do to loose weight.

Maintain A Healthy Eating Habit: When one advances in age, there are types of meals the person should reduce or stop eating totally. Meals high on sugar, and saturated fats should be avoided and replaced with meals with plenty proteins, fruits and vegetables; also. Also red fatty meats should be replaced with white meat (chicken and turkey) or fish; while eating of snacks like biscuits and cake should be avoided and replaced with nuts and fruits.

Maintain An Active Lifestyle: In as much as the strength to spend long hours in the gym or the zeal to engage in other strenuous activities may no longer be there for old people, but an old person can maintain an active lifestyle by going for long walks, using the stairs instead lift and maintain an active daily lifestyle.

Avoid Drinking Of Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic beverages are one of the things that can cause a person to gain weight; replacing alcoholic beverages and other sweet drinks with water can go a long way in helping an old person loose weight.
