Things that can cause hearing loss

Hearing loss occurs when there is damage to the inner ear drums, making to loose its hearing ability; most times when the ear drums are badly damaged and hearing loss occurs, it is very difficult to treat the ear drums and reverse the situation, there is why extreme care must be taken to avoid its occurrence. In this article, I will discuss some of the causes of hearing loss;

1. Loud Sound: this is the number cause of hearing loss; when you subject your ears to loud sounds constantly for a long period of time, you are sure to spoil your ear drums and bring about hearing loss; everyday, we are subjected to loud noise coming from different locations instances are; from our Stereos and Earphones, noise from traffic, that is from car engines and horns, noise from our religious houses like churches and mosques with loud speakers that can be heard miles away, all these contribute to weaken and damage the ear drum over time.

2. Ear Wax Build Up: another reason for hearing loss is allowing the ear wax to build up; though I read somewhere that new science discovery advises people not to clean out ear wax from the ear because the ear is built to ear the ear wax through an internal process, there is yet to be proved of that. But I know that allowing ear wax to build up inside the ear will have negative effects on the ear drums; that is why regular cleaning is advised.

3. Aging: This is also an important factor as people tend to hear less as they grow older although some age much faster than others. If you can stay young, then you can reduce the rate at which you lose the ability to hear sounds.
