Beer is one of the most drinks in the world today, even in Nigeria. There are many companies making millions of Naira daily from the production and distribution of beer.

All these while, we have only been informed about the health dangers of drinking beer, the truth is that beer is not as harmful as it is being portrayed as long as it is consumed in a moderate quantity; it only dangerous to the body when it is consumed in large quantity or when a person becomes addicted to it.

It is reported that a man is allowed to consume 750 ml of beer daily while a woman should only consume about 355 ml daily. In this article, I will mention some of the health benefits of drinking beer;

First, has been scientifically proven that a beer a day keeps you healthy and away from the doctor. It might be a surprising fact but it is true. A beer helps keep heart diseases away as it contains HDL which is a good form of cholesterol that has an anti clotting effect.

Secondly, it helps to keep the kidney healthy, as it has been proven that people who take beer regularly have lesser chances of developing kidney stone, and this can be related to the high water content of beer when compared to other types of alcohol.

Thirdly, when beer is consumed moderately, it helps to protect the bone and keep it health. This can be traced back to the silicon content of beer. Studies even proven that beer helps to prevent bone loss, and rebuild bone mass in men and young women.

In summary, I think beer can make you live longer only if taken in moderation but as a drunk who loves to drink beer on a frequent basis, it can shut down your organs and make you live a shorter life. If you drink beer and still want a longer life, then you'd need to include some physical exercises that can help you lose weight and stay in shape.
