Nutritionists advise that people should substitute red meat to white meat because white meat contains less saturated fat than red meat and white meat includes fish and poultry meat. Fried chicken is a major delicacy in Nigeria; everybody like fried chicken but not everybody can prepare a tasty fried chicken; some people just rub salt and sauce cubes on the raw chicken and drop in hot oil and wonder In this article, I will take step to step process of how to prepare a tasty fried chicken that will go with any food.

Wash, Season And Soak: This is the very first step to preparing a tasty fried chicken; after you cut the meat to your desired size, you then wash and put inside your cooking point, add your salt (1/4 teaspoon), sauce cubes (2 cubes), onions (1 small bulb) and seasoning powder (1 sachet), and cover the pot; leave for 5 minutes to allow the chicken soak in the ingredients.

Cook it dry for a few minutes: Place the pot with the chicken on a low heat and allow to cook dry for the next 2 to 5 minutes. The pot will not burn, rather the meat will produce some liquid to cook the meat for the period. The purpose of this step is to allow the meat to further soak the ingredients inside.

Add Water and Cook: After 5 minutes, add a small cup of water into the pot and allow to cook for 30 to 45 minutes; you may have to cook further if after the given time, the meat is still tough.

Fry: After you bring down the pot of meat from the fire, place a frying pan on fire; pour enough oil to deep fry the meat. Allow the oil to get very hot, add some slices of oils to the fire to taste the heat, add the cook chicken meat and allow the meat to turn to a golden colour before you turn the other side. Bring out the meat with a frying spoon and allow the meat to cool.
