Some benefits of being self employed in Nigeria

With the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria, many people are venturing into self employment and these are people who have come to understand that Nigeria's growing economy for now favours entrepreneurs more than workers.

Self employment which can also be called Entrepreneurship refers somebody who prefers to work for himself than for an employer or for a periodic salary. For a self employed person, you can run your business alone or with other people, and you pay yourself at the end of the day.

When you are self employed, you can be a Freelancer; you can work for other organizations based on contract or you can work directly with your Clients.

Some of the benefits of being self employed include:

- You become your own boss: when you are self employed, you become your own boss, you determine your schedules and working hours, you take your own decisions, and the best is that, you pay yourself at the end of the month, and it saves you the stress of having to look for job or the fear of being fired from work b your Boss.

- No limits on your income: You have a potential of earning more when you are self employed than when you are working for another Person on a fixed salary. When working for another Person, you are paid a fixed salary irrespective of how hard you work, but when you are self employed, you earn more as you work harder and you keep your profit alone and you can reinvest your profit to earn more.

- More Free time: Self employment gives you more free time. When are self employed, it gives you more free time to spend with your family and loved ones and more time to venture into other profitable things.

- Longer life: Self employed people are known to live much longer and healthier lives than people who spent most of their lives working as employees. This is because they don't overstress themselves just to meet a target or fulfill a duty in a big organization and are not under pressure from bosses as is the case of employment. You don't have to work on weekends or mid nights if you don't want to and have enough time to rest and care for your health.
