The Nigerian election is around the corner, campaign and party primaries should kick off sometime around November in preparation for the main election next year. A lot of surprising events have started unfolding one of which is the fact that most of our young actors and musicians have started accepting political posts or declaring their interest in contesting for one political post or another, this is aside from most of them that have already been elected into one political post or the other; people like Nkiru Slyanus, and RMD.

Some of the reasons why our actors are entering into politics include;

- To Give Chance For The Younger Generation: Since after independence, we have been told that young people are the leaders of tomorrow, but we have seen that political post have been going back and forth in the hands of those that took over since our independent; actors are entering into politics to give chance for younger generations who wish to veer into politics and to prove that the younger generation can also make a difference in our political world.

- Lucrative World Of Nigerian Politics: Everybody in Nigeria knows that politics is very lucrative and yields more money than the entertainment industry; so actors are entering into politics to make more money and be financially free.

- Cashing in on their Fame: They've already achieved fame and become popular among Nigerians. Most Nollywood actors are even more popular than politicians but are not as rich as the latter and so they want to use their influence to get votes and finally get paid for it when they win an election.

- The Next big step: Most Nigerian actors have acted in a lot of movies and have become matured and sort of tired of acting and so may be very well looking for something bigger, something that would be the next logical step above what they've already achieved and for some of them, politics seems to be the thing.
