A thermometer is an instrument that is used to check body temperature, it is found mostly in hospitals, clinics and maternity. A thermometer is usually placed on the body of the Patient; either on the forehead armpit or tongue, while the instrument reads the body temperature of the person. A non-contact thermometer on the other hand is a type of thermometer that is used to check the body temperature of a patient without placing the instrument on the person’s body. The non-contact thermometer was introduced because of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD); the virus is normally transmitted through a bodily contact with an infected person and in order to reduce the chances of bodily contact the non-contact thermometer was introduced.
This way medical personnel can safely check the temperature of an Ebola Virus Disease (EDV) patient or a suspected person.
HOW TO USE THE NON-CONTACT THERMOMETER:
The thermometer is placed near the Person’s forehead without touching the person, the infrared that is built in the instrument connects and takes the person’s body temperature reading.

Benefits Of Using The Non Contact Thermometer:
1. For the Safety of Health Personnel’s and patient: As I mentioned above, the non-contact thermometer was introduced because of the Ebola Virus Disease; this way the safety of health Personnel are some how guaranteed since they will not have any physical contact with the patient.

2. It Is Faster: The non-contact thermometer is faster than the normal thermometer because of the inbuilt infrared. It brings out results in a matter of seconds
