JAMB UTME is an entrance exam written by Students who are inspiring to get admitted in the university. To most Students in Secondary school, sitting for JAMB is like an express ticket to getting admission into the Higher Institution.

The truth is that not all students that write JAMB in a year gets admitted into the university that year, even if they decide to admit all of them, there wouldn’t be enough Higher Institutions to accommodate all Candidates.

The reason why passing JAMB is not a guarantee for admission is because;
After a Candidate written JAMB, passed the exam with high score, it is still not a guarantee that the Person will gain admission that year, because the Person can write the Post JAMB and fail, when this happens, the Person has to sit for both JAMB and Post JAMB the next year.

Secondly, a Candidate can pass both JAMB and Post JAMB and still not be granted admission, because the Person did not each the cut-off mark issue by the school. Schools place cut-off marks to sieve from a Multitude of students that applied for their school, and select the best students to offer admission into the school for the academic session.

What this means is that writing JAMB and passing the exam does not guarantee you a place in the university, Candidates should rather see the exam as a starting point as they still have to write and pass Post JAMB with high score and reach the School’s cut-off mark, before they are granted admission into the University.
