How to get admission into a private university in Nigeria

Private universities are owned and run by private individuals. It is easier to get admission into a private university than into a state or federal university, this is because of their high cost tuition fee, which makes just few people who can afford the fee to apply for the schools. Let’s look at the steps you need to take in order to get admission a private university in Nigeria.

1. Register For Your UTME: it is mandatory for every Nigerian seeking for admission to register for and take the UTME. The first step into getting admission into a private university is to choice them as your choice of school while registering for UTME.

2. Score at least a pass mark: Getting at least 180 points is the average pass mark for the UTME as at 2014. So candidates most score at least 180 in his UTME to be invited for the school’s Post UTME; this requires some extensive reading and solving of past questions by the Candidate to be able to score the average pass mark.

3. Pass The Post UTME: as long as you got a score of 200 and above in your UTME, you will be invited to take the Post UTME which is the last phase of getting admission into the school. The exam usually takes place in the school’s campus. The candidate needs to score above the cut off mark for the department he or she is applying to get admitted into the school.
