While using your mobile device, there are some basic data you accumulate as time you time goes on; such as your contacts, messages, files on your gallery, downloaded apps. These data can be lost if the phone is attacked by a virus or if the phone is flashed, and it can be a gruesome task to start accumulating these data afresh. This is where backing up comes in handy. A backup lets you store your phone data remotely so that you can have access to your file anytime you loose your present copy. Some network providers allow you to backup your contacts on an online platform so you can retrieve it if anything happens to your SIM card.

Let’s look at some reasons why you need to backup your phone data

- Reliable access to your Files: When you backup the vital data in your phone, it lets you have access to your file at any time. Even when your phone gets attacked by a virus and there is need to flash your phone, you can do so knowing that you can access your data through backup files.

- Saves time and energy for restoring data: A backup saves you the time and energy that would be required in restoring your data from afresh if you had to do it one by one. Let’s use the issue of contacts in a SIM card as an instance. If you don’t backup your contacts and your phone gets missing, it would be so stressful to start building your contacts and you might end up not retrieving some of your contacts because you only depend on when people call you to save their number afresh. This can be avoided by backing up your contacts as you accumulate them. With the push of a synchronization button, you could easily restore data that has been lost.

- Keeps you socially connected: Imagine how life would be if you didn't have any contacts in your phone. Well, that's the way it could be if you didn't have access to a back up and you lost your contacts - You would be socially disconnected and can't call your friends an family. A phone back up allows you to stay connected and find it easy to call people.

- Easy transfer of phone data: It is much easier to transfer your phone data from one phone to another assuming you bought a new phone or just a replacement and have done a backup already. There might be times when you'd need to just transfer your contacts, memory card files, messages, calendar and so on from one phone to another without doing it manually. Well a backed up data service allows you to do that and some even allow you to transfer from Android phones to Nokia and so on.

For most people like me, our phone's data is much more valuable than our phones and so it won't be an intelligible thing not to make use of a backup service to keep your phone's data secure and accessible whenever you want it
