Why Christians celebrate Christmas

Christians around the world commensurate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas day which is on 25th December; it’s a season when we remember the time of our Saviour was born into this world in fulfilment of the work of salvation.

This article will focus on specific reasons why Christians celebrate Christmas:

1. To celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ: I have mentioned earlier on this article that Christmas is the time to celebrate the virgin birth of Jesus Christ; if a Christian don’t believe that Jesus was born into this world, how will you believe his death, resurrection and work of salvation? So celebrating Christmas is a sign that we believe in the redemption work of Christ.

2. Time To Show Love: another reason Christians celebrate Christmas is because, it is a season of love; most people travel during the Christmas season to be with their loved one, other take the opportunity to share gifts and show love to the less privileged in the society.

3. Time To Rest And Plan For The New Year: the Christmas celebrated few years to the end of the year; most people take the Christmas season as a time to rest, take a sober reflect on their achievements for the year, and set new plans and revolutions for the new year.
4. Time To Share The Good News: most Christians take the Christmas a period to share the good news of how God loved the world so much that he sent his beloved Son to be born to save the world; that’s why you see many churches organize lot of Christian programs during the Christmas period.
