Sunlight is one free gifts of nature most people tend to take for granted. It should be noted first that excessive exposure to sunlight is not good for the health as it can lead to skin cancer, skin burn and wrinkles; that is why people are advised to make use of sunscreen when they are going to be exposed to the sun for several hours; it is the early morning sun from 7 am to 9 am hat is good for the health. For this article, I will focus on the good effects the sun has on human health and why you should spent sometime in the early morning sun every day:

- For Healthy bones and to prevent cancer: it is a well known fact that sun gives vitamin D which is good for healthy bones. This occurs when sunlight changes the dehydro cholesterol on the skin into vitamin D3. This vitamin is known to help the bone absorb calcium. Vitamin D also helps to reduce the risk of breast and colon cancer.

- Sunlight helps to induce sleep: if you are having problems with falling asleep easily, you should try spending some time outside under the sun. This is because when the sun hits on the eye, it sends message from the optic nerve to the melatonin gland, which is a gland in the brain that helps induce sleep; exposure to sunlight increases the production of melatonin for good quality sleep.

- Helps to ease of mild depression: research has shown that sunlight helps to produces an anti-depressants hormone in the brain called serotonin, which helps to improve a person’s mood and ease off depression.
