Ways to check your bank account balance

Everybody operating an account with any bank have the need to check their account balance once in a while to know how much they have in their account. Most banks send their Customers credit alerts and debit alerts to notify them of any transaction that took place in their account, but there are cases where some Customers does not receive bank transaction alerts, either because they didn’t subscribe to such service, or due to poor network service, this article will mention some other ways to check your bank account balance without using the bank transaction alerts.

- Customer Service Desk: The duty of the bank customer service Officers is to help Customers sort out any issue relating to their account, and that includes helping Customers check their account balance. If you need to check your account balance, walk into any branch of the bank that you are operating an account with, visit the customer service desk, tell them you want to check your account balance. You will be asked to provide some information like your account number, your name and your signature. After that, your account balance will be given to you.

- Using your ATM Card: Apart fro withdrawal of cash, an ATM can be used to check your account balance. Visit any ATM near you, insert your card, enter your PIN, click on ‘check account balance’, you will be shown your account balance.

- Using SMS: Some banks allow Customers check their account balance using SMS. Each bank has a unique number they use for checking account balances via SMS. Check out the procedure for your bank and follow through, you will receive your account balance details as an SMS.

- Using Internet banking: If you've got an internet banking service, you would be able to easily check your account balance by using the internet and logging into your account with a username and password. Just ensure you are logging in on a secure platform and keep your account details secret. You would be able to see your balance once you are logged into your account.
